1 dead and 4 injured in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 14 in Newhall

NEWHALL, CA (June 18, 2024) – One person died and four others were injured in a multi-car crash on Highway 14 near Freeway 5.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal car crash occurred at around 2:16 a.m. on Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a car went out of control and crashed. At least one other vehicle was subsequently involved in the chaos. Authorities did not confirm the total number of cars involved in the crash, however.

Following the incident, the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found one person dead, two people with serious injuries, and two others with minor injuries.

Officials could not provide details on the cause of the crash, which delayed traffic at the intersection of the southbound 14 Freeway and the 5 Freeway South.
