ABC-7 First Alert: Hot and dry Monday, chance of rain with temperature drop mid-week

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Due to hot and dry conditions throughout the border area, we remain under an ABC-7 Initial Warning!

Temperatures are expected to be around 90 degrees throughout the region today. Temperatures are expected to reach 93 degrees in El Paso and 96 degrees in Las Cruces. A light breeze will be felt, with gusts expected to peak at 20 to 25 mph.

A heat warning remains in effect for El Paso and Las Cruces until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Moisture will move into the region on Wednesday, increasing the chance of rain for the second half of the week and causing temperatures to drop below triple digits.
