Commuters evacuated due to loose snake

Commuters were evacuated from an MTR Island Line train during rush hour on Monday morning after a passenger saw a 40-centimetre-long snake scurrying around the carriage.

The incident at 7.37am resulted in all passengers being asked to leave the train at Admiralty Station and board the next train, Sing Tao reported. Train services were not affected as staff called a snake catcher.

Last Thursday, a similar strange drama unfolded at MCL Cinema in Sha Tin’s New Town Plaza. HK01 reported that a 16-year-old boy’s 30cm-long python had gone missing from the cinema. The MX4D Movie Town’s screen was closed for the day, but MCL offered a refund.

The boy later found the snake at the scene accompanied by police and his mother.
