Newfane home appears to be a total loss after fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Newfane home is believed to be a total loss after a fire damaged the structure Friday evening, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities said the fire started around 9:20 p.m., with several calls reporting a possible fire at the Ridge Road home.

The occupants of the residence were safely helped out of the burning home by a firefighter who was passing by at the time. Several fire companies were eventually able to put out the fire.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
