More severe storms and tornadoes are possible for the Louisville area on Wednesday

Day of the severe weather warning: The second round of severe weather will occur on Wednesday

Another strong alert day before calmer weather returns to the Ohio Valley

GOOD DAY. I’M JENNIFER BAYLESS FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW. WE NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE WEATHER AS IT IS A MAJOR ALARM DAY IN OUR REGION. WLKY NEWS CHOPPER FLYING OVER A SELLERSBURG NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN LEFT. DAMAGE. WE WILL LEARN MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS DAMAGE AND THE CLEAN-UP EFFORT. But for now, we expect more storms to appear later today. Meteorologist MO ROSE follows everything for us. MO DO WE HAVE CONFIRMED TORNADOES FROM YESTERDAY? WE ACTUALLY DO THIS. It happened last night in CLARK COUNTY. AT 9:00 HOUR, ABOUT 923. WE HAVE CONFIRMATION THAT AN EF ZERO TORNADO HAS LANDED IN CLARK COUNTY IN THE PERRY CROSSING AREA AND SOME INFORMATION WE GET FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IS ABOUT 60 YARDS WIDE AND THAT TRAVELED ABOUT A HALF A MILE ON THE GROUND AND CAUSED ROOFS, SLADDING AND FENCES. And the damage was due to winds of 85 miles per hour and above. So at this point we have confirmed at least one EF zero value. NOW WE’LL GET MORE STORMS LATER TODAY. IT’S ANOTHER SEVERE ALARM DAY AND THE ENTIRE VISIBILITY AREA IS IN THIS ENHANCED AREA, er, IMPROVED AREA WHICH IS THE POSSIBILITY OF STRONG TO SWIMMING WEATHER. Now if you notice the black dashed line that’s just floating across the screen, that means we think there’s an increasing chance that there could be extremely strong, powerful storms. THIS IS AN AREA THAT WE NEED TO WATCH CAREFULLY, EVEN WHEN THE ENTIRE VISUAL AREA IS UNDER THIS INCREASED THREAT WHICH IS THREE OUT OF FIVE ON OUR THREAT BAR, THERE IS JUST A LITTLE EXTRA JUICE IN THE AIR THAT WE NEED TO WATCH. And again, that’s south and west of that black dashed line. Living outside of it doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. I mean, you have a chance of strong storms today, we’re actually all looking pretty good right now, and we don’t want too much of that sunshine because that’s just one of those ingredients that the storms love. SO WE NEED TO GET RID OF THIS SUNSHINE SOON. We are already at 73 degrees and also the heat that is also fueling these storms. Check out our 12 hour forecast. WE WILL BE OBSERVING AN INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE OVER THE NEXT HOURS AS THE SUNSHINE WE GET WILL NEED TO GO TO THE LOW 80S FOR THE HIGHEST HEATING OF THE DAY. And that’s when we really had to start becoming aware of the weather. We are starting to trigger showers and storms. For some people it starts and can become severe very quickly. So we will be watching this very closely. WE HIT THIS ONCE IN THE LATE AFTERNOON UNTIL THE EVENING. AND THAT WILL PROBABLY CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT PERIOD. Very similar to last night. NOW THERE IS A STORM RISK FOR THIS ROUND, DAMAGING WINDS IN THE MEDIUM CATEGORY, LARGE HAIL, EVEN TORNADOES AND FLOODING. We’ve actually increased that threat a little bit since yesterday because there’s more rain and some of these slow-moving storms are dropping a lot of water. So if you have areas with poor drainage near you, flooding may occur
