Police are asking for help in identifying the hit-and-run driver in the June 8 incident

The Chattanooga Police Department’s Traffic Unit is asking the public for help in identifying the driver of a modified Ford F-150 that struck a pedestrian and disappeared from the scene last Saturday (June 8).

At 2:36 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to an incident involving a pedestrian struck in the 7200 block of Shallowford Road. When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS arrived at the scene. EMS transported her to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The CPD Traffic Unit took over the lead of the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F-150 was traveling west on Shallowford Road while the woman attempted to cross the street. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and left the scene before officers arrived on the scene.

The vehicle is a modified Ford F-150 with bronze or gold paint and retrofitted lights. The driver is a black man who uses a cane to walk.

Chattanooga Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525 and ask to speak with a traffic investigator regarding this incident.
