Shooting in Chicago: Police report delivery driver shot in Englewood

CHICAGO (WLS) — A food delivery driver was seriously injured in a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on Wednesday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting occurred around 12:29 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 68th Street.

According to police, the 49-year-old victim got into a verbal altercation with a male assailant as he attempted to make a food delivery and someone fired shots.

The victim was shot in the head and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

No one is in custody. Area One detectives are investigating.
