Man in hospital with stab wounds after incident in Christchurch

A man has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in Christchurch.

Dorset Police were informed today of an incident on Hunt Road in Somerford.

Several police cars and an ambulance were spotted in the area.

A man was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of rioting.

A cordon has been set up outside Quantock Court and authorities have said there will be an increased police presence in the area.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We received a report at 12.01pm on Tuesday 11 June 2024 that a man had sustained stab wounds on Hunt Road in Christchurch. He was taken to hospital for treatment.”

“A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of rioting.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. Police presence in the area will be increased during the investigation.”
