Man arrested after shooting his wife in Waterbury: PD

The man’s wife was found by officers and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

WATERBURY, Connecticut — A man was arrested in Waterbury on Monday after police determined he shot his wife.

According to Waterbury police, 41-year-old Jonathan McMillan is charged with first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, second-degree disturbing the peace, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer/sale of a firearm, tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment.

Police said they arrived at Perkins Avenue at 12:11 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of shots fired.

According to police, investigators on the scene found that McMillan had shot his wife during a “domestic dispute” between the two.

McMillan’s wife was found by officers and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

McMillan was held on $1 million bail and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
