20 people arrested following AR police initiative, meth and more seized

According to the Arkansas State Police, the operation lasted nine hours.

Twenty people were arrested by Arkansas authorities in an operation in Lee County where illegal items including firearms, methamphetamine, ecstasy pills and illegal marijuana were reportedly seized.

According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP), the operation lasted nine hours, beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24, and ending at 2 a.m. the next day.

According to ASP, there were 156 citations for various offenses and eight people were arrested for drunk driving.

They said police also issued two arrest warrants for serious crimes.

According to the ASP, there were 13 violations for speeding, 22 for not wearing seat belts and 10 for not using child restraint systems.

Three of the five confiscated firearms were reported as stolen, the ASP said.

“The greatest success of the operation was the response of the community,” said ASP Captain Philip Hydron, Commander of Troop D. “They have expressed their sincere appreciation for our presence and the proactive attitude of law enforcement in combating criminal activities.”
