State police investigate stabbing in Plymouth after accident in Sandwich

State police are investigating an alleged stabbing attack Saturday night at a McDonald’s on Route 3 in Plymouth that led to a crash in Sandwich. The driver of the crashed car, who police say stabbed two people at the McDonald’s, was taken to a hospital for treatment, state police said.

A 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man suffered stab wounds at the scene in Plymouth and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday at 7:04 p.m., State Police received 911 calls reporting a stabbing in Plymouth. State Police found the two individuals with suspected stab wounds. State Police subsequently found a car matching the description of the alleged suspect on a public road in Sandwich. The driver of the vehicle did not stop when State Police attempted to stop the car, according to State Police. The driver caused an accident and was taken into custody by State Police and Sandwich Police.

A police investigation indicated there was a connection between the Plymouth incident and an earlier incident at a Braintree movie theater in which four teens were injured, state police said. The four did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
