Charges filed over incidents in Langford | Mirage News

Cannington Criminal Investigation Department charged a man yesterday, Saturday 25 May 2024, in connection with a number of incidents in Langford, including one in which a man was seriously injured.

At approximately 5:35 p.m., a man in his 30s was in his vehicle on Woodmore Road in Langford when he was approached by an unknown male individual. The male individual approached the victim and when the victim opened the car door, the male individual allegedly punched him in the face. The victim drove away and was able to get to safety.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., a man in his 20s arrived at a gas station on Nicholson Road in Langford and exited his vehicle. He was approached by an unknown man who was acting aggressively. The victim returned to his vehicle to safety and locked the doors. It is alleged the man walked up to the vehicle, grabbed a door handle and ripped the door handle off the vehicle before walking away.

At approximately 10pm, a man in his 20s visited a petrol station on Nicholson Road in Langford. He approached the “night counter” to purchase something. An unknown man approached the same night counter and allegedly pushed the victim and then punched him in the face. The force of the blow caused the victim to fall backwards and hit his head on the concrete forecourt, rendering him unconscious. The man left the scene but a passerby followed him and gave police information on his whereabouts. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital from St John WA.

A short time later, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a residence on Woodmore Road in Langford. He has since been charged by Cannington Detectives in connection with the three incidents mentioned above. The 30-year-old Langford man was charged with:

– Serious bodily harm

– Mayhem

– Damage or destruction of property.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before the Perth Local Court today, Sunday 26 May 2024.
