Live score updates in first game since Gary Smith’s firing

Nashville SC hosts Atlanta United on Saturday at Geodis Park in its first match since the firing of Gary Smith, the only head coach in club history.

Interim coach Rumba Munthali, who previously served as NSC’s player development coach, will lead Nashville (3-4-5, 14 points) against an Atlanta team without stars Thiago Almada and Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Almada, who scored three goals and one assist, is out with a calf injury, while Giakoumakis, who scored five goals and one assist, suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati. Atlanta (3-6-3, 12 points) is 12th in the Eastern Conference, has lost three straight MLS games and hasn’t won in seven.

Nashville moved into a tie for ninth place in the East with a 2-0 win Wednesday against Toronto FC, Smith’s final game in charge. NSC struggled against a Toronto team playing without coach John Herdman, although Shaq Moore and Teal Bunbury both scored in the final 10 minutes to get three points.
