Two officers injured, one stabbed in incident on University Ave in Columbus – CNAW 2 with Colin Scroggins

Two Columbus State University police officers were injured while investigating an off-campus incident.

Officers were injured while investigating two suspicious men at an off-campus location near the 3900 block of University Avenue.

“An officer sustained multiple stab wounds during an altercation with one of the suspects,” the university said in a statement. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local medical facility and released that evening. The second officer had superficial wounds that did not require medical treatment.

The perpetrator was taken into custody. “The situation did not pose an immediate threat to the university’s main campus,” the university added. This remains a developing story.
