Woman raped in moving bus in Hyderabad; technician raped by her boyfriend

Hyderabad:A 26-year-old passenger was allegedly raped by a driver of a private sleeper bus travelling from Nirmal district in Telangana to Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, police said on Tuesday. The woman called the emergency number 100 and informed police about the incident after midnight on Monday when the bus was on the outskirts of Hyderabad, they said.

A search operation was conducted for the bus of Harikrishna Travels and when it reached Osmania University, the police pursued the vehicle and arrested one of the drivers, Siddaiah, who is currently being interrogated while another driver, Krishna, fled, the CI said.

Another brutal incident also took place in Hyderabad. The case of a software engineer who was raped by a boyfriend and his friend came to light through the victim’s complaint. The police have registered the case and are investigating the incident. According to the police, a software engineer from Hyderabad went to a hotel with her friends. In the complaint, the woman stated that one of her friends raped her along with another man under the influence of alcohol. The police said they have registered the case and are investigating.

Two rapes on the same day create a stir in Hyderabad. No matter how many strict measures the police take to protect women, atrocities continue to take place. Two incidents in the city came to light after the victims filed complaints. Sexual harassment and rape of women are increasing day by day despite the government taking strict measures to stop these crimes.
