291,000 BMWs recalled due to freight train problem – KIRO 7 News Seattle

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced the recall of more than 291,100 BMW vehicles.

The authority explained that the fastening of the inner cargo area rail could be damaged and come loose in an accident.

The recall affects some vehicles of the X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M4i and X3 M models from model years 2019 to 2023.

According to NHTSA, dealers will replace the rear cargo rail mounting bolts free of charge.

Owners will be notified of the issue after August 30, but can also contact BMW directly at 800-525-7417.
