Actor Josh Hartnett recently revealed that his decision to leave Hollywood nearly two decades ago was largely influenced by numerous stalking incidents.

Speak with The guardThe Oppenheimer The actor reported some disturbing experiences he had during his stay in Los Angeles.

He described cases in which people showed up at his home uninvited and described them as stalking incidents that made him feel uneasy.

Hartnett recalls disturbing stalking episode at film premiere

Hartnett described a particularly disturbing incident that occurred at a film premiere.

A man claiming to be Hartnett’s father arrived armed. The man was subsequently detained.

This alarming incident, among other things, heightened the actor’s concerns about the potential dangers associated with fame and ultimately caused him to rethink his Hollywood career.

“There were a lot of things. It was a strange time. And I didn’t want to be grist to people’s mill.”

Hartnett is now back in a leading role in “Trap”

Despite his brief break from Hollywood, Hartnett continued to pursue his acting career.

His latest project is M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological horror thriller Catchwhose release is scheduled for August.

Ironically, in the film, Hartnett portrays a serial killer trying to evade a stadium-wide police operation!

The film also stars Saleka Shyamalan and Alison Pill.
