Erie police accuse 17-year-old of injuring man while playing dice

Erie police accuse a teenager of shooting at a group of people who were allegedly playing dice during a street festival on the city’s east side Sunday night, injuring one man and damaging a home and a vehicle.

Ra’Mere L. Rogers, 17, was arraigned on Thursday afternoon on charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm into an inhabited building. He is accused of firing shots in the 400 block of East 24th Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Erie police charged Rogers under the Fisher Bill, a state law that allows juveniles accused of violent crimes to be tried as adults. After his arraignment, he was taken to the Erie County Prison on $250,000 bail.
