Atlanta’s best ATP bets including Karatsev vs Tiafoe

ATP 250 Atlanta 1/8 finals

Karatsev – Tiafoe: 25.07.2024 01:00 CEST
H2H: 1-2

Aslan Karatsev has lost four of his last five matches. Before the ATP in Atlanta, Karatsev played his last match at Wimbledon where he retired mid-match against Khachanov. Here in Atlanta, Aslan won his first round match against Harris in three easy sets. Karatsev was unplayable in that match, hitting 20 winners and only 3 unforced errors. Due to injuries, Aslan has only played 9 matches this season so far. He will be hoping for a good result here to get back into the top 100 just before the US Open.

Frances Tiafoe has won three of his last five matches. His last match was at Wimbledon, where he lost to Alcaraz in five tight sets as we expected. His last match on hard court was in March in Miami, where he lost to O’Connell in three sets. So far this season, Tiafoe has not had any remarkable results. However, with his recent decent match against Alcaraz, we believe Tiafoe will regain his confidence and perform in front of his own fans.

The best bet to make

According to the bookmakers, Karatsev is the underdog in this match. Both players are not in good shape at the moment. However, Karatsev has already played a match here in Atlanta and showed excellent tennis. We think he will have a good chance against Tiafoe, so we think he will keep this match close.

That being said, Karatsev’s handicap covering the match is a value bet.

Value bet/best odds: Aslan Karatsev +2.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365

McDonald – Nishioka: 07/25/2024 02:30 CEST
H2H: 2-4

Mackenzie McDonald has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Newport, McDonald reached the quarterfinals where he lost to Opelka in three tight sets. Here in Atlanta, McDonald played well in his first-round match against Nakashima, winning in three sets. Mackenzie was excellent under pressure, successfully saving all three of his break points. The American has struggled a lot this season and is currently on the verge of losing his place in the top 100. The last time he played in Atlanta was in 2022, when he lost in the second round of the tournament.

Yoshihito Nishioka has won three of his last five matches. Three weeks ago at Wimbledon, Nishioka lost in the second round to Mpetshi Perricard in three sets. Here in Atlanta, Nishioka played well in the first round, winning against Svajda in three sets. Nishioka only lost his serve once, early in the first set. However, after that, Yoshihito served well and won in three sets. Last year in Atlanta, Nishioka lost his second round match to Vukic in three tight sets.

The best bet to make

According to the bookmakers, McDonald is the favorite in this match. Both players are out of form, with a similar style of play. A long and tight match is expected for both players.

That being said, Over matches are a value bet.
