Brother-in-law among nine people arrested for raping woman

Police in Bahawalnagar in Punjab have arrested nine suspects for raping a married woman. Among those arrested is the victim’s brother-in-law, who was declared the main suspect.

The woman from Naya Nursar village in Bahawalnagar reported to the police that her husband’s elder brother, Ghulam Mustafa, wanted to settle an old dispute with her and he abducted her with the help of a Rescue 1122 employee, Imran, and seven others.

The brother-in-law lured the woman out of her house on the pretext of getting her medical treatment, according to the victim, who said that after she was kidnapped, she was taken to an abandoned house where she was drugged and raped for two days .

According to the FIR, the accused kept the woman at the place for two days and raped her. The other accused include Idrees, Saif-ul-Malook, Ameen Jowia, Jabran, Asif and two unidentified persons.

Following the woman’s complaint, the Bhawalnagar Saddar police station registered a case against the accused for kidnapping and multiple ill-treatment.
