Botanical Gardens introduce new educational signage

BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are getting a makeover with new panels throughout the gardens’ exhibits and introducing the next phase of larger expansion projects.

Dozens of new educational and wayfinding panels will help visitors learn more about the diverse plant species and collections, from chocolate trees to carnivorous plants.

The new signage marks the next phase of the botanical gardens’ rebranding, which has already introduced a revitalized logo, a refreshed color palette, an updated mission statement and a new website.

A grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is supporting the project to introduce new panels throughout the conservatory, produced by Beyond Print Solutions in partnership with Metal Supermarkets.

Branded panels inform visitors about the key characteristics of the different plants and guide them through the exhibits. In addition to the colorful panels, a renovated admissions desk and gift shop will welcome visitors and reinforce the new brand.

“Our team works hard to care for these plants and show them to the world,” said Amanda Johnston, the gardens’ education director. “Now we have a way to share with the public more than just their beauty.”

New plants, exhibits and educational opportunities will arrive at the Botanical Gardens this fall and through 2027 as expansion continues.
