Mobile internet suspended in Haryana’s Nuh ahead of Braj Mandal Yatra –

Haryana government suspends mobile internet in Nuh for Braj Mandal Yatra.

The Haryana government on Sunday suspended mobile internet and SMS services for 24 hours in Nuh district ahead of the Braj Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, following violence during the same event last year.

According to an order issued by Haryana Deputy Home Minister Anurag Rastogi, the internet will be switched off from 6 pm on Sunday to 6 pm on Monday.

“… there is fear that tension, nuisance, riot, damage to public and private property and disturbance of public peace and order in Nuh district…” the order states.

The stay order was issued to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumours on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.

STRICT ON-SITE SECURITY

Nuh police have taken strict security measures for the yatra, deploying local police, commando units, mounted police, dog squads and bomb disposal squads across the district.

Nuh police use drones and dog squads for ongoing search and surveillance operations. All vehicles entering or leaving the district are videotaped and checked at checkpoints by dog ​​squads.

Mounted police can also be seen throughout the district. To boost public confidence, a flag march was held under the supervision of Police Commissioner Nuh.
