Teenage thief dies when he runs in front of a city bus after stealing his cell phone: Video

Maybe it was karma.

A shocking surveillance video captured the moment a teenage would-be thief snatched an unsuspecting passerby’s cellphone and fled with it – only to be abruptly stopped by a bus.

The chilling footage from Brazil, posted online on X on Saturday, shows the 17-year-old crook staring at a 71-year-old man on the phone on a street corner in Sao Paolo on Friday.

The 17-year-old crook then flees, leaving the unsuspecting older victim completely stunned by the sudden robbery.

The teenager pounces on him, grabs the phone and runs away, leaving the stunned victim behind.

But then the teenager, wearing shorts, a black T-shirt and a black baseball cap, is hit by a city bus and dragged several meters as he tries to run across the street.

The gruesome video is blurred to protect the viewer from the obvious bloody outcome for the thief.

He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, the post said.

“Karma is real,” wrote one commenter on the clip.

Another joked: “I hope the old man’s phone didn’t break.”

Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, who posted the footage online, wrote on the website that the teenager “did not follow the two golden rules: 1. Thou shalt not steal. 2. Look left and right before crossing the street.”
