FREEPORT, Illinois (WTVO) – A 20-year-old Freeport woman, Dazaray Caffrey, was arrested by police following an investigation.

According to Freeport police, officers executed a search warrant in the 300 block of W. Douglas Street early Thursday and found a loaded handgun and 7 grams of cocaine.

Caffrey was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, failure to have a firearm owner’s identification card, and possession of a controlled substance.

She was taken to the Stephenson County Jail and will be held pending the outcome of a detention hearing, authorities said.
