Eight members of a family died in a traffic accident in Jawzjan

JAWZJAN, Afghanistan – At least eight members of a family were killed in a road accident in Jawzjan province on Sunday, according to Taliban-controlled state media.

Taliban reported that four children and a woman were among the victims. The accident occurred on the Jawzjan-Faryab highway in Khwaja Dokoah district.

Two cars were involved in the accident; further details were not disclosed.

Traffic accidents are a common cause of death in Afghanistan. The deterioration of road conditions is cited as a major factor.
