Police called to accident in Allentown: driver shot

When Allentown police were called to an accident on Sunday morning, they found that the driver of a vehicle had been shot.

According to Captain Thomas Anderson, police were called to the 300 block of Hamilton Street around 5:30 a.m. Officers rendered aid to the driver, who was taken to the hospital by Allentown EMS.

According to police, the driver is expected to survive. There is no danger to the public, said Anderson.

The shooting is currently under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 610-437-7721 or the police dispatch at 610-437-7753, extension 1.
