1 in custody after standoff in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – One person was taken into custody after a domestic incident led to a standoff, according to police.

Horry County Police were called to the Woodland Farms neighborhood on Highways 501 and 22 between Aynor and Conway Wednesday evening.

According to police, the person involved in the “domestic incident” had barricaded himself alone in the house.

Hours later, around 2 a.m., the person was taken into custody “peacefully,” police said.

“We thank you for your patience as we worked to complete this operation without further incident,” the department said in a Facebook comment.

When the scene was active, neighbors were asked to stay in their homes.

The name of the barricaded person has not yet been released.
