Boxing instructor who abused 12-year-old girl for four months in Mumbai’s Byculla district arrested | Mumbai News

Byculla police on Monday arrested a 22-year-old kickboxing trainer for allegedly sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl several times over the past four months.

According to police, the accused taught children kickboxing. He taught the girl self-defense using kickboxing methods in the protected area of ​​the residential tower where the girl lives with her family.

According to police, the accused abused the girl several times between February and June this year. “He first asked the minor for sexual favors. When she refused, he violently abused her,” said a police officer.

Recently, the girl, who had not told anyone about the incident, told her mother about the ordeal she had been through. The mother contacted the police on Monday.

The girl told police that the defendant also sexually abused her in a studio where he gave boxing lessons to his students.

“Based on the girl’s complaint, we arrested the accused on Monday and produced him before a court, which remanded him in police custody till July 5,” said a police officer from Byculla police station.

The accused has been booked under sections 376, 376(2)(n), 354 of the IPC and sections 4, 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The police are also probing whether the accused deliberately attacked other girls to whom he was teaching kickboxing.
