Drake’s “thugs” allegedly attacked Rick Ross and his crew at the Vancouver music festival because they had done the following

An unprecedented development at Canada’s Ignite Music Festival has once again proven that the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake will never die down, despite his temporary disappearance from the spotlight.

Rick Ross and his entourage could never have predicted what was in store for them when the rapper reportedly took the bold step of playing the Pulitzer Prize winner’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us” in the “Hotline Bling” singer’s home country.

Rick Ross had to face the wrath of Drake “thugs” in Canada because he played Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us”.

Following his performance at the music festival in Vancouver, British Columbia, Ross was reportedly punched in the back, according to a video shared on social media by DJ Akademiks. The “Champagne Moments” singer ended his high-profile performance at the star-studded event with “Da Boss,” and then attempted to perform a version of Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” the very song that apparently ended the feud between K Dot and Drizzy.

But not long ago, the “Humble” artist added fuel to the fire again by turning his Pop Out concert performance at the Forum into a wild celebration of his victory over Drake by playing the song in question not once, but five times. According to a subsequent tweet from Akademiks TV, Ross’ DJ for the concert, Sam Sneak, was also attacked by this group of people in Vancouver.

Ross clearly didn’t get the memo and made the mistake of hitting back with what was presumably a sarcastic and playful attempt to ridicule the feud between the Big Two (of Three) rappers. The video, shared on X/Twitter by Akademiks – a broadcaster believed to be in Drake’s inner circle – shows footage of an escalated confrontation between Ross (and his crew) and individuals believed to be from Drake’s label OVO Sound.

“Rick Ross got ambushed by the OVO GOONS because he wanted to play in Canada unlike us,” Akademiks tweeted on X.

Although the Drizzy vs. K Dot discussion has produced some meme-worthy content during the two artists’ months-long feud, many have labeled the fallout a distasteful downfall of the hip-hop industry. DJ Akademiks seemed to agree with fans’ sentiments. He later tweeted from his personal account, “I guess Canada won’t let anyone play ‘Not Like Us’. Pray for peace everyone. Ross and Drake have always slapped each other. Sad it’s come to this.”

While Drake has been feuding with several other hip-hop moguls in lengthy verbal sparring sessions, he also had some heated exchanges with Ross in April. The pair, once celebrated for their iconic long-term professional partnership, have since taken shots at each other, engaging in diss wars and poking fun at each other’s personal lives, as heard on the “Push Ups”/”Champagne Moments” exchange.
