Man sentenced to life in prison for shooting Mobile police officer

MOBILE COUNTY, Alabama (WKRG) – A Man found guilty of attempted murder after shooting Mobile Police officer in 2018 was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Dajoune DuBose was found guilty of attempted murder and first-degree theft of property in May 2024.


DuBose shot and killed Mobile Police Cpl. Ben Towarnyckyj following a traffic stop in which DuBose was driving a stolen car.

He was sentenced to twelve years in prison for property theft.

The two sentences are spoken one after the other.
