Pilot killed in plane crash in Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – A man was killed in a plane crash in Martin, Tennessee, Tuesday morning, officials said.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Weakley County Emergency Management Agency responded to a plane crash in a wooded area near Vancleave Road.

EMA director Ray Wiggington said the plane was an agricultural aircraft and the pilot did not survive the crash.

The pilot’s identity has not yet been released, but Wiggington confirmed he is from Obion County, Tennessee.

The FAA is investigating the crash on site.
