Napoli lowers Osimhen rating – Arsenal, Chelsea, PSG and Saudi Arabia on alert

Napoli have slashed their asking price for striker Victor Osimhen to just €100 million after struggling to find takers when the club insisted on his €150 million release clause.

According to Calciomercato, Napoli are ready to accept offers of €100 million for the Nigerian international, putting his former suitors on alert.

Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a transfer for Osimhen, with Paris Saint-Germain also bidding for his signature while Saudi Arabia are monitoring his situation.

They had all backed away from a deal for Osimhen due to Napoli’s demands, but a lower valuation means they could reconsider a deal for the former Lille centre-forward.

Napoli are looking to cash in on the Lagos-born striker to rebuild their squad for new coach Antonio Conte.

The Partenopei have to fill numerous gaps and need all the funds they can get through sales to implement their summer transfer plans.

Osimhen’s lower price could attract interest from Arsenal after preferred candidate Benjamin Sesko decided to stay at RB Leipzig.

Chelsea is another possible destination for Osimhen, with the Blues still looking for a new centre-forward to relieve Nicolas Jackson of the goalscoring burden.

Ligue 1 champions PSG are looking for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe and have eyed him as a possible takeover target, despite preferring a move to the Premier League.

Osimhen has scored 17 goals and provided four assists in 32 games for Napoli. The previous season, he was the league’s top scorer with 26 goals and led Napoli to the Serie A title.

The 25-year-old is a top-class striker who is likely to improve most of his suitors, but they are concerned about the financial aspects. Aside from the transfer fee, he will command huge wages, further increasing the overall cost.
