Club in West Louisville where 8 people were shot temporarily closed

The west Louisville club where eight people were shot early Saturday morning has been temporarily closed while the investigation is underway. Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control said Saturday afternoon that the owner of Club H2O has agreed to voluntarily close the establishment while the investigation is underway. At approximately 12:47 a.m., shots were fired inside the club, killing one person and sending another to the hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. Six other people were also shot but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, according to police. The full statement from Louisville Metro ABC is as follows: “The incident at Club H2O is currently under investigation by LMPD and Louisville Metro ABC. ABC Administrator Silveria has discussed the situation with the owner of H2O, who has agreed to voluntarily close the establishment temporarily. This decision, made in light of our shared concern for public safety, allows them time to mourn the tragic loss of their employee while ensuring the well-being of the community.” Louisville Metro Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting, and so far there have been no arrests. At around 12:47 a.m., shots were fired inside the club, killing one person and taking another to the hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

Six other people were also shot, but according to police, their injuries were not life-threatening.

Louisville Metro Police continue to investigate the shooting, but no arrests have been made so far.
