Things to do in Houston: Holocaust Museum hosts Kinsey Collection of African American Art and History this weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — TGIF Let’s talk about qué pasa Houston.

If you’re looking for a cultural event and something indoors, head to the Holocaust Museum.

Kinsey African American Art & History Collection celebrates the achievements and contributions of Black Americans from 1595 to the present. Its collection includes paintings, sculptures, photos and more, providing a comprehensive look at the African American experience.

Another big indoor event is the Houston Symphony’s Jurassic Park concert this weekend. It will feature visually stunning images and groundbreaking special effects.

This weekend, three CONMEBOL Copa América matches will be played at the NRG Stadium.

The first will take place on June 22, for Group B between Mexico and Jamaica.

It’s happening Saturday at the Emancipation Park Conservancy Cultural Center. This film is inspired by a hypothetical exodus of former slaves to Africa following the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863.
