“Hawaii Five-0” star Taylor Wily dies at 56

Hawaii Five-0 star Taylor Wiley died at the age of 56, musician LinaGirl Langiwho was close friends with the actor and his loved ones, gave on her KITV show Island Life Live.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of a Hawaiian celebrity who was also a family friend,” Langi said on the show on Thursday (June 20).

Wily, real name Parta Tuliwas a sumo wrestling champion, professional wrestler for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and former MMA fighter who lost one UFC fight before turning to acting full-time.

“Taylor Wily, former professional wrestler, MMA fighter and actor, died today in Hurricane, Utah,” Langi said. “He seemed physically threatening until you just hugged him and that was it. It breaks my heart.”

Island Life Live Co-moderator Daniela B described Wily as one of the “kindest” and “gentlest souls” during the broadcast. The actor’s cause of death was not announced on Friday (June 21).

Wily was credited for several acting roles before appearing as Kemo in the film comedy Forget Sarah Marshall in 2008. The Hawaiian actor played Kamekon In Hawaii Five-0the 2010 remake of the cult series Hawaii Five-O, for 171 episodes and 10 seasons, a role he reprised for seven episodes in the Magnum PI Restart.
