Heat-related incident for passengers on flight Antalya-Münster/Osnabrück

A planned flight from Antalya to Münster/Osnabrück ended with an incident that caused concern for the passengers. The interior of the aircraft heated up considerably while still on the runway, which, according to Mavi Gök Airlines, posed a “risk to the safety of the flight, the cabin and the passengers”.

The airline confirmed that the air conditioning was not sufficient to reduce the temperatures and the pilot therefore decided to prevent take-off. This led to waiting times and unpleasant situations for passengers, the airline said.

The incident occurred on June 6, 2024, and was described by alleged passengers on social media as disturbing, with temperatures exceeding 52 degrees on board and reports of a lack of assistance from the airline.

Mavi Gök Airlines explained the incident as being due to “technical problems and other operational reasons beyond our control.” A thorough investigation into the circumstances is currently underway.
