Oldfield man arrested in Ava for burglary and theft

Ava, MO. – A man with an address in Oldfield, Missouri, was arrested in Ava last week for stealing several bottles of Crown Royal, $250 in cash and a box containing a surveillance camera system from a Douglas County store.

According to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, it began on June 9 when a deputy responded to a burglary call from the Barnyard Store on T Highway. Fingerprints and boot prints were taken at the scene and several items were reported stolen.

On June 11, two officers were called to Ava City Pool because a suspicious person was “harassing the pool area.” The man’s backpack contained several bottles of Crown Royal Whiskey, which were the bottles stolen on June 9. Additionally, footprints at the break-in scene matched the man’s boots.

The man was identified as Lowell Ray Fink, 20, of Oldfield. He was then arrested and taken into custody. Fink is facing charges including second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal damage and theft – $750 or more.
