An air quality warning is in effect until midnight today.

The National Weather Service says the warning was issued by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.

The warning was issued because higher temperatures combined with light winds and sunny skies could lead to a health-harming increase in ozone levels.

Sensitive groups such as active children and adults as well as people with respiratory problems may be affected by the high levels.

Residents are advised to drive as little as possible, avoid fueling vehicles or gasoline-powered yard equipment before 7 p.m., and conserve energy by turning off lights and setting air conditioning to 75 degrees or more.
