Case IQ launches first two AI copilots to improve incident reporting and dramatically streamline investigations

The Summarization and Translation Copilots address common challenges faced by HR/ER, compliance, fraud and security investigation teams.

OTTAWA, ON / ACCESSWIRE / June 12, 2024 / Case IQ, the leading provider of solutions for investigation case management, today announced the release of its AI Copilot Suite for Investigations. The first two components of the suite, Summarization Copilot for easy report writing and Translation Copilot for communication between investigators and reporters, were released in early June. Intake Copilot, the third component, is scheduled to launch in the third quarter.

These tools are not simple bot-style AI, but rather generative AI to confidently identify and analyze complex case information. By leveraging generative AI technology, Case IQ’s Copilot Suite reduces the amount of time investigators spend on administrative tasks and increases consistency and efficiency.

As artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLM) become more prevalent in the workplace, investigators have expressed that their most pressing need is for AI to support case summarization and reporting. In a recent survey of more than 1,000 Case IQ clients and prospects, 62% said summarization was the area of case management that most needed AI support.

Powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI and leveraging GPT-4’s core LLM technology, Case IQ Summarization Copilot carefully processes each piece of evidence. Beyond mere summarization, it provides:

  • Timeline generation: Timelines that create clarity and reveal hidden connections.
  • Evidence analysis: Comprehensive evidence scanning ensures that no detail is overlooked.
  • Policy and Compliance Retrieval: Automated access to relevant policy documents and compliance regulations to ensure investigations are legally compliant and follow best practices for the specific case type.
  • Recommendation generation: A consolidated AI analysis leveraging both case details and relevant guidelines automatically generates a draft outcome recommendation that the investigator can review, modify, and finalize.
  • Quality control: The summaries generated follow the guidelines established by the administrator. This ensures consistency of results across all investigators and allows for an overall improvement in report quality, regardless of who generates the report.
  • Flexible output: Administrators can set different reporting policies that can be tailored to different case types, different audiences, etc.
  • Investigator confirmation: Automatic generation of all summaries requires investigators to review, modify, and confirm their responsibility for completing the summary and conclusion to ensure responsible AI use.
  • Enterprise-grade security: Using Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI service combined with Case IQ’s rigorous privacy and security protocols ensures that customer data remains completely secure when using Copilots.

Keith Bauer, National Data & AI Leader at Microsoft’s AI Labs, said in a Case IQ webinar: “Our partnership with Case IQ, particularly in leveraging the Azure OpenAI service, is unique in the market. It is a testament to the close collaboration between our companies and our shared commitment to our customers.”

Case IQ Summarization Copilot is customizable to meet the unique needs of different organizations. From small-scale, routine matters to time-sensitive legal investigations, Copilot uses organizational policies, industry best practices, and applicable legal documents to produce a comprehensive case summary that stands up to legal scrutiny.

Translation Copilot, also available as part of the AI Copilot Suite, uses AI to automatically translate reports and complaints, as well as subsequent communications between the reporter and the investigator. The tool detects the language of the entry and automatically translates it into the user’s default language. This allows reporters to report incidents in the language they are most comfortable with. This increases the likelihood that they will notify the organization when an incident occurs and helps uncover risks. The investigator, in turn, receives the report in the language of their choice, speeding up the investigation process and allowing the organization to support a diverse, multilingual workforce with centralized investigative resources.

Gabriela Snobrova, Chief People Officer at CLEAResult, stated in an interview with Case IQ: “Case IQ is a pioneer in the use of AI in its very comprehensive investigation management solution. I received a preview of the AI-powered Summarization Copilot and was very impressed. Given the importance of summaries, I welcome the fact that the Case IQ team has prioritized the launch of the Summarization Copilot solution. The ability to quickly produce a high-quality report summary will be appreciated by all stakeholders.”
