One person with serious injuries flown out by rescue helicopter after motorcycle accident in Crawford County

Erie, Pennsylvania (WJET/WFXP) – One person was seriously injured in a crash involving two motorcycles in Crawford County Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on US 322 west of Linesville.


The lead motorcycle, a 2001 Harley-Davidson, slowed down and attempted to turn left onto Linesville Road. The trailing motorcycle, a 2023 Harley-Davidson, allegedly followed too closely and clipped the rear of the lead motorcycle.

The following motorcycle overturned onto its driver’s side and slid into the oncoming lane, where it came to rest on top of the driver. The driver was flown by StatMed Evac to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the lead motorcycle was taken to Meadville Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Neither driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. According to state police, both drivers are from Leetonia, Ohio.
