York County woman killed in car crash in Lancaster

A York County woman died Tuesday in a traffic crash on Route 30 in West Hempfield Township that caused a traffic jam more than 3 miles long in both directions.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a 30-year-old woman died at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Her name has not yet been released by the Coroner’s Office.

Just before 11 a.m., emergency crews responded to Route 30 eastbound at mile marker 256.6, near the Prospect Road exit, for a report of a one-vehicle crash with entrapment. A dispatcher with Lancaster County-Wide Communications said at least two vehicles collided and one of them was on fire.
