Investigations underway after emergency crews battled an apartment fire in Ocean Beach

Authorities were investigating after emergency crews battled a fire that broke out at an Ocean Beach apartment complex on Sunday.

Emergency crews were dispatched at about 6:40 a.m. and arrived a few minutes later at 4835 Orchard Avenue, near the intersection with Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

According to the fire department, a total of 34 people were deployed to fight the fire, including two trucks, four fire engines and a paramedic.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but a fire inspector has been called. According to OnScene.TV, a marijuana plantation and a small honey oil laboratory were found in the apartment.
