1 woman dead, 1 shot and injured on Saturday evening in Tuscaloosa

One woman is dead and another injured after a shooting in Tuscaloosa late Saturday night.

Captain Marty Sellers, co-commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, confirmed the shooting shortly after midnight Sunday.

Sellers said Tuscaloosa police and VCU were at the scene of a shooting at the intersection of Crescent Ridge Road and Jack Warner Parkway.

Sellers said two women were shot. One is dead and the other is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Sellers said an investigation was ongoing and no further details were available early Sunday morning.

According to Tuscaloosa Thread staff, this is the 15th murder case that VCU has investigated so far this year.
