Man killed on Saturday. 2 others shot on Friday

According to police, a 26-year-old man was shot and killed in Wilmington on Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred at about 12:58 a.m. in the area of East Third Street and North Lombard Street, Wilmington police said. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said another shooting occurred in the 500 block of North Monroe Street around 9:45 p.m. Friday. The victims were a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, who were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

According to a Delaware Online/The News Journal database, 47 people were shot in Wilmington this year, six of whom died. During the same period in 2023, 39 people were shot in Wilmington, four of whom died. In 2024, there were 106 shooting victims in the city, for a total of 13 deaths for the entire year.
