1 dead and 1 injured after severe storms in Greeley, Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) – One person is dead and another is injured after severe storms ripped through Greeley.

Further details were not immediately available, but a Greeley spokesperson said the deaths and injuries were related to the storms that raged overnight into Wednesday morning. FOX31 is working to find out more about what happened.

The storm dumped massive amounts of hail and several inches of rain on Greeley. The hail covered the ground like snow and the rainwater trapped vehicles in the floodwaters. FOX31 teams visited Greeley on Wednesday and found residents suffering from the effects of the storm. Homes and vehicles were heavily damaged.

A severe weather warning remained in effect east of the Denver metro until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
