Dothan man found dead in Jackson County lake | WDHN

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDHN) — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the death of a Dothan man in Compass Lake

Faith Flawn, PIO of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, identified the victim as 71-year-old James D. Knowles. An official cause of death has not yet been announced.

Compass Lake residents reportedly found Knowles’ body floating in the lake next to his boat just before noon Tuesday morning.

Neighbors at the lake said Knowles was suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

Jackson County Sheriff’s officers arrived at the scene, but since Knowles was found in the water, the case was turned over to the Fish and Wildlife Service.
