Draymond Green doesn’t think Jamal Murray deserves a suspension for his antics in Game 2

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray’s antics in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves could potentially lead to a suspension after he was seen throwing a heating pad from the bench onto the court during the game.

Although the incident went unnoticed by officials during the game, the moment was captured on the TNT broadcast, sparking widespread discussion among fans online about whether Murray deserved a suspension.

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green addressed the situation on the latest episode of his podcast, making it clear that he did not believe Murray’s behavior warranted a suspension.

“I was just online and I see people saying, ‘Oh, Jamal Murray is probably going to get suspended for throwing the heat pack,'” Green said. “I didn’t think he would be suspended, even though it was very dangerous. Someone steps on it, A, it leaves a wet spot. B, it can really jack someone up. But I didn’t see that and act like my first thought wasn’t, ‘Ah, he’s getting suspended.'”

“It’s crazy how people just automatically call for lockdowns these days. I just don’t really understand it. But when I say that, man, Denver is in a bad place right now,” he added.

Game 2 was frustrating for the Nuggets as they were held to a season-low 80 points by an overwhelming Timberwolves defense. The normally assembled team looked unsettled, especially Murray, who was often under pressure from the moment he entered Minnesota’s half.

Although no one was injured after Murray threw the heater pack onto the pitch, it was a reckless move by the 27-year-old that could have resulted in an injury or accident. A ban is certainly not out of the question for Murray as he faces at least a fine for his actions, although an official decision from the league in this regard is still pending.
