Connecticut State Police releases traffic statistics for Memorial Day weekend

Conn. (WTNH) – The Connecticut State Police have released their preliminary traffic statistics for the Memorial Day weekend.

State police said they received a total of 3,919 emergency calls between midnight on May 24 and 11:59 p.m. on May 26. These included 374 speeding violations, 21 drunk driving violations and 37 seat belt violations.

In addition, 244 accidents were reported for the weekend, one of which resulted in serious injuries.
