New Mexico State Police are investigating a murder in Chimayo

CHIMAYO, NM (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating a murder at a home in Chimayo. They said they executed a search warrant on County Road 86 on May 14 for 41-year-old Christopher Serrano. Serrano was wanted on charges of aggravated assault by strangulation, criminal sexual contact and interference with communications in an incident the week before.

When they arrived at the house, they found a man lying face down with trauma to his body. The man was identified as Serrano. The NMSP tactical team cleared the house and no one else was found inside.
