Anderson man arrested on nine counts of child abuse |

ANDERSON – An Anderson man has been arrested on nine felony counts of child molestation involving two different girls.

Jose Antonio Patlin-Vasquez, 45, 1600 block of West 17th Street, was arrested on charges of child abuse and sexual misconduct with a minor.

He is accused of six counts of child abuse and three counts of sexual misconduct with minors.

If convicted, Vasquez faces 20 to 40 years in prison.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an investigation in June 2023 involved a then 10-year-old girl.

During a forensic interview with Kids Talk, the girl said she had been abused for about four years.

The second investigation involved a 14-year-old girl who said during forensic interview that the molestation began when he was six years old and that Vasquez often offered her bribes.

During an interview, Vasquez denied the allegations but was “extremely visibly nervous as he was extremely shaking throughout.”
